Study with Us

Study abroad

Each year, many of our students go abroad to study, work, or volunteer. Our carefully selected partner organisations from around the world offer a range of programmes, giving students the opportunity to create lifelong memories. An international experience can boost a student's academic and personal development and help them gain a whole range of new skills, from problem solving to learning a new language. Students who go abroad can improve their confidence, grow their independence, and potentially increase their employment prospects.

Global opportunities

We offer global opportunities with over 40 partners across the globe who have been selected due to their academic and cultural benefits. Students who go abroad often see improvements in their confidence, independence, and employment prospects.

Each year, the university bids for funding from the government's Turing Scheme, which provides financial support for international opportunities in education and training worldwide. Eligible students will receive grant funding to support their expected travel and cost of living expenses. Full details are provided specific to each opportunity and student.

Study abroad

Undergraduate students may participate in a Study Abroad programme for either a semester or a full year. Participating students will experience different teaching and learning environments, explore diverse cultures, and enhance their independence and adaptability. The University has a growing portfolio of international partners, enabling students to study in Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, and the USA.

Summer opportunities

A summer opportunity is an excellent way for students to immerse themselves in a new culture and experience social, cultural, and academic exploration. In previous years, students have had the chance to visit various destinations including Egypt, India, Malaysia, South Africa, and South Korea.

Each year, the University promotes available opportunities to students. Some are subject-specific and others are more social and cultural in nature and open to all students. External partner organisations also offer work, volunteering, and cultural opportunities. Partners are selected based on robust criteria to ensure quality and value for money.
